Sunday School

Junior High (6th-8th grades) & Senior High Sunday school meet together at 9:00 am in the Senior High Room upstairs.

Sunday school provides structure for teaching God's Word and helping youth build a firm foundation of faith. Teens interact with others as they discover, review, and study God's principles. Guided instruction of the Scriptures helps youth learn how to interpret and apply Christian priniciples to their daily lives.

Youth Group

Meets Sunday afternoons from 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm for fellowship, service, and activities.

Jr. High Youth Group serves young people in 6th through 8th grade.

Sr. High Youth Group servers young people in 9th through 12th grade.

The Hilltop UMC Youth Group's focus is on teaching Youth how to show Christ's love to others.  Youth participate in relationship building through fun activities, sharing common meals, and nurturing their faith through learning, discussion, and service.  The youth do a variety of service projects at the church, in the valley, and around the country. Mission trips are a wonderful way for the kids to connect with each other and God while serving their fellow man. Watch the bulletin for ways to get involved. The Youth Group also participates in community and church sponsored projects; as well as supporting the various Ministries at Hilltop UMC.  While the Jr. and Sr. High Youth Groups meet separately, at times we meet together with the UEUMYs (Upper Elemetary United Methodist Youth) to provide connectional and peer mentoring relationships among all the youth at Hilltop.

Youth Bell Choir

Joyful Ringers is a bell ensemble for young people in 6th through 12th grade.  Rehearsals are Sunday afternoons from 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm. No experience required, although ability to read music is helpful. In addition to performing in worship services serveral times a year, the Joyful Ringers perform in the community and participate in special Music and Arts Ministry events.

Youth Mission Opportunities

The youth do a variety of service projects at the church, in the valley, and around the country.  Once a year the Youth Group participates in a mission trip.  Mission trip provide an opportunity for the youth to put their discipleship into action, connect with each other, and deepen their personal relationship with God.

The 2019 Mission Trip will be to Portland, OR, June 28th - July 6th.  We will be working with L.A.S.T. (Learning and Serving Together).    For more information contact Jen Strickland at cyministries@hilltopumchurch.org.

The L.A.S.T. Program is directed by Rev. Jeff Lowery, an ordanied deacon in the United Methodist Church. L.A.S.T. is a service-learning project that links small groups of youth and adults with service opportunities. We don’t stop at service; youth and adults are encouraged to process what they are doing from a biblical perspective. Youth will participate in interactive evening programs that study the root causes of poverty and examine how we all can be a part of the greater solution.

Confirmation Class

Confirmation is an important point in our journey of faith. The confirmation class will give each youth the opportunity to dig deeper into their own faith and gain an understanding of what it means to be a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. After successful completion of the confirmation class each youth will have to opportunity to make their first public profession of faith.

Hilltop’s 2019 confirmation class will begin on March 10, 2019 and end on Pentecost Sunday, June 9, 2019. Class will be held during the Sunday school hour. Youth in the 7th grade and older, who have not been confirmed are invited to participate. If you have a youth who would like to participate please e-mail Jen Strickland at cyministries@hilltopumchurch.org no later than February 24, 2019.
